A SaaS automation tool, increased its organic traffic by 103% in 6 months. Here’s a case study of how we helped this client reverse the downward traffic and generate 5150 to 9984 organic visits globally in just 6 months.
The Client
- An automation tool website.
- Provides personalized image creation solutions for email, LinkedIn, chatbots, etc., to capture people’s attention and improve conversion.
- Domain Registered on 2008-07-15 (new domain).
The Problems
Our client has been in the industry for over 14 years, and the site has done SEO optimization before.
However, despite doing SEO on this site, they still had some big issues;
- This site wasn’t able to get the top ranking in the SERP.
- Also, it wasn’t able to generate enough organic leads from its existing traffic.
The Goal
This client came to us in December 2021, and here is what they were looking for-
- Growing organic keywords and traffic in the United States.
- Improve total monthly clicks and impressions.
- Generating more leads per month.
And here’s how we approached the project:
Our Strategy
Before we begin strategizing the project, the first thing we do is conduct a full site audit. This way we can easily figure out the issues we need to work on and develop SEO approaches in accordance.
The SEO Audit
So what we found after auditing the website is-
- The site did have some previous traffic, but it wasn’t growing as expected.
- No sudden big drops or penalties.
- Problems with keyword targeting and placing.
- Some potential keywords are on the first page of SERP, but there was no position movement.
- The current content strategy wasn’t performing well.
- Link juice issues.
- Problems with on-page optimization.
With these in mind, we started putting together a strategic plan. We worked on a month-to-month priority basis rather than doing everything at once.
So, our core SEO strategy was content-centric, but we also addressed other SEO pillars such as – technical SEO, link building, on-page optimization, and others.
The Action Plan
Phase 1: Keyword Research and Placement
So, we began the process by conducting extensive keyword research to identify primary target keywords that were relevant to users’ intent and had high search volume.
Once all keywords were sorted, then we grouped those keywords into “clusters”, and finally, we mapped all of these keywords to new and existing content.
Phase 2: Develop Blog Content
Since this industry is highly competitive, instead of focusing on service pages initially, we focused on creating SEO-optimized helpful blog content. These posts ultimately help in attracting relevant audiences, educating them, and funnel them to service pages.
Phase 3: On-Page Optimization
We mentioned earlier that the internal linking of this site was not done properly and this prevented the web pages from passing the link juice. Again, some keywords remain in the same position for a long time without any progress. So, we optimize this site with all the necessary on-page elements to make it more user-friendly and search engine friendly.
Phase 4: Link Building
For SaaS businesses, it is essential to be considered an authority, and one of the best ways to achieve this is by doing link building. And we acquired some high-quality links from relevant authority websites for this site.
The Outcome
We started working on this project in January. Before sharing the final result of this website after working with us, let’s look at how the site performed from October to December. This way, you can easily understand how much the site has improved.
Before Taking Service (Oct 1 – December 31)
Here, you can see that the site had a total of 1.37M impressions and 12.4K clicks from October to December 2021.
Month to Month Data Analysis from October to December
October – 1
If we break down the data by month, we see that at the beginning of October, the total clicks were 109 and the total impressions were 11,709.

Again, at the end of October where total clicks downgraded to 66 while impressions increased to 13,473.

Now, let’s come to November; here we see that the total clicks and impressions both went up to 117 and 16,902 earlier this month.

This trend continued towards the end of November, and both clicks and impressions were trending upwards.

December – 1
Unfortunately, this picture completely reverses by December. At the beginning of this month, impressions dropped to 16320 and total clicks to 170.

And, at the end of the month, the site’s performance dropped completely, standing at 80 total clicks and 15154 impressions.

After starting work (Jan 1 To March 31)
Basically, we started working on this site on the first day of January. And, when we started, the performance of this site was not that good; the click and impression rates were gradually falling down.
But within just 3 months of our SEO optimization, this site saw a huge spike in total clicks and impressions.
As you can see, after three months of work, by the end of March, this website was able to generate 79% more clicks and 86% more impressions.
Let’s see how we made this happen.
After Service – Month To Month Data Analysis
So, we started with keyword research targeting the user intent and search volume.
January 1 (clicks 70, Impressions 15,324)
Once done, we optimized the home page, service pages, and other blog content by placing all the targeted keywords. Besides, we have optimized all those keywords which are fixed in the same position so that they start ranking upward.
In addition to this, we also created and published some how-to guides, tips and tricks guides, and all other information and troubleshooting content for the blog section based on the target keywords.
January 31 (Clicks 280, and Impressions 28,778)
As a result of optimizing keywords and adding new blog posts, the site began improving its organic clicks and impressions in late January.
February 1 (Clicks 274, and Impressions 27,839)
This month we added contextual internal links from the blog posts to the product landing pages, especially to those pages which were already ranking well in SERP as well as to the new and other existing content.
Besides, we have also optimized all the content with on-page elements like images, header tags, headings, URL, keywords optimizations, etc., which were not optimized well for the search engines as well as the users.
February – 28
After the on-page optimization and continuous content publishing, at the end of February, we saw a 19% increase in total clicks and a 28% increase in impressions on this website.
March 1 (Clicks 326, and Impressions 34,339)
This month we start link building for this website with the combination of foundation backlinks, guest posting, outreach, authority backlinks, and profile backlinks.
March – 31
Although both clicks and impressions dipped slightly at the beginning of March, they picked up again by the end of the month with a 32% increase in clicks and a 15% increase in impressions.
After Services (April To May)
We did not do any new optimization on this site during April and May, but we were constantly monitoring the site’s growth.
April – 1
At the beginning of this month, the site’s total clicks were 334, and impressions were 34,051.
April – 30
During this month, the server and website were down for 12 hours. We also migrated the website which resulted in a huge drop in total clicks and impressions.
After the migration, we performed a technical SEO audit and found that the site speed was very poor. So, to fix this, we took into consideration all the recommendations.
May – 1
However, in May, the click and impression rates started improving gradually.

And by the end of May, we saw a significant increase. The click rate grew by 180%, and the impression rates grew by 10% compared to April.

Now, let’s see how the traffic grows globally during these 6 months.
As you can see, organic traffic on this site was 5,150 from February 14th to 20th, which went up to 9,984 from August 8th to 14th.

While the site received 2325 organic traffic from the United States on February 14 – 20, this number increased to 4727 on August 8 – 14.
That means in just 6 months, we make this website able to get 103% more organic traffic from the United States.
Here is only the data for the first six months; this site has gradually grown more and has been able to generate more potential leads. However, we continue to work with this SaaS SEO client and helping increasing its targeted traffic, clicks, and impressions every month.
